A
sustainable
world
Our vision
Our CSR policy is based on these four pillars:
D&B wants to make an active contribution to a safe, healthy and liveable planet for the next generation .
D&B is convinced that all people who work for us and all people we work for are equal, in accordance with the principle of equality set out in Article 1 of the Dutch Constitution.
D&B's policy is based on creating an inclusive organization that is not biased towards any (cultural) background, (religious) belief, gender, age, or preference. Our workforce reflects our society.
D&B makes every effort to provide a working environment in which our employees are seen, heard and respected .

One sustainable focus
We have linked the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) established by the UN to our long-term strategy for 2030. The nine SDGs that D&B The Facility Group focuses on are:

Good health & well-being
(SDG #3)

Quality education
(SDG #8)

Clean water & sanitation
(SDG #6)

Affordable & sustainable energy
(SDG #7)

Decent work & economic growth
(SDG #8)

Industry, innovation & infrastructure
(SDG #9)

Reducing inequality
(SDG #10)

Responsible consumption & production
(SDG #12)

Climate action
(SDG #13)
In this way, we will work together to make the world a better, cleaner and healthier place in 2030.

Our
guideline
The CSR Performance Ladder certification provides us with a guideline for sustainable business practices and focuses not only on the Planet, but also on People and Prosperity. The CSR Performance Ladder replaces ISO 14001 (environmental management) and provides a broad perspective on CSR within our organization. We consider this important for our organization, which relies entirely on our people. And the best part is, during the preparations for the audit, we discovered that many CSR initiatives are deeply rooted in our vision.

Power to our people
Of the three Ps, People is the most important CSR pillar for us. Not surprising for a company that thrives on the services of our people. Our people provide a unique experience for clients, offer guests a warm and familiar welcome, and create an inspiring work environment that complements the surrounding area. They are always caring and engaged. That's why they are, without a doubt, our top priority.

Cleaning believes in employment contracts of at least 28 hours so that a Cleaning Host feels part of the company and has a healthy work-life balance. We also require our staff to be able to clean during the day and thus interact with guests. This increases employee satisfaction.

Impact on the planet
We've been measuring the CO2 emissions of our business activities at Scope 1 and 2 since 2019. By 2025, the CO2 footprint will also be calculated at Scope 3. This tells us that the biggest impacts on Planet are at our headquarters, We Canteen, Cleaning, and Mobility. Besides being impactful, they can also be game changers in climate action. Our ambition to reduce the relative CO2 emissions of our business operations by 50% compared to 2019 levels by 2030 will be achieved at Scope 1 and 2 levels by 2025.
Many Planet-related initiatives are part of our business concepts. Check out the Factsheet to see what we aim to achieve.

During the process for the CSR Performance Ladder Level 3, we discovered that many initiatives were spread across the organization, but together they create an impact. Reducing shrinkage at We Canteen by offering food at a reduced price, reducing water usage in floor cleaning at Cleaning by using robots, and waterless car washing at Mobility. These initiatives are a first step in our contribution to a more environmentally conscious world, and there's more to come.

Concerning our prosperity
With over 1,000 employees, we may not be the largest facilities services provider, but we do make a real contribution to employment in our sector. And not just any contribution, but a positive contribution that drives revenue growth, personal development, growth of initiatives, and stimulates the sharing economy.
Curious about how we do that?

I work closely with our local entrepreneurs, and almost every one of them tells me they see We Canteen as a springboard for their entrepreneurial growth. Some build a larger network, while others grow in their business processes and become more professional as a result. And the best part is, they generate revenue at a time—lunch—when they normally don't see any growth. Win-win!
