Innovating
the
experience

Our vision

Innovate. Not for the sake of innovation, but to improve our services. To enable our people to do their work even better, with even more enjoyment. That's why, for us, innovation always serves people and the experience. And not the other way around.

"We actually said 'no' to robotization in our facility services for quite some time. The main reason? The lack of the human touch and the limited contribution to efficiency and quality. Today, technology has advanced to the point where robots truly relieve the burden on our people. This gives them more time for the important details, social interaction in the workplace, and they stay healthier because robots take over heavy and repetitive work. Everyone wins."

Thinking about tomorrow

The facilities market is inherently quite conservative and cautious. Understandably so, because ultimately, the money comes from the hours deployed. However, this is short-term thinking. There's still so much to gain, improve, and enhance. And with the tight labor market, you can't afford to sit still.

Sink or swim

In other words: standing still means going backward. You have to do something, but with a clear focus. With every opportunity, we ask ourselves: How does this help our people? How does it improve the experience? And does it make us more efficient? This is precisely why we never embraced a robot host. But now we see opportunities for using live holograms.

You need to measure
to improve

Anyone can create a work schedule. Smartly tailoring a work schedule to daily needs is only possible based on real-time data. A good example of this is the sensor technology our Cleaning and Security Hosts use in multi-tenant buildings, among other places. This detects restroom visits, creating a clear picture of cleaning needs and allowing us to dispatch our Cleaning Hosts in a targeted manner.

Make or
buy?

Sometimes we see market initiatives that we'd like to adopt. You don't always have to invent and develop everything yourself. An example is Tork Vision, the sensor technology our Cleaning Hosts use. However, we're often ahead of the market and have to develop things ourselves, either with a specialist partner or with our own expertise. We recently partnered with TPEX, a technology company focused on Artificial Intelligence and Smart Buildings.

Keep it simple

There's a persistent misconception when it comes to innovation: that innovation is synonymous with technological development. Of course, that's not entirely true.

We're open to all the new insights from our 1,000 employees. They know exactly what's needed. Innovation isn't a top-down approach, but a bottom-up one.

As a company, you essentially need two things to develop new initiatives and make them viable. One is an agile, decisive board and management team. The second is a dedicated team that owns the project. Let D&B have both.
