Building a
Community

Our vision

A close-knit community ensures satisfied and loyal employees. It helps to safeguard the corporate culture and its associated values and standards. It leads to increased output, reduced absenteeism, and improved quality. In short: 'Community Building' isn't really a topic to put on hold...

My thesis addressed the question: how do I involve an entire business park in a business community? A real challenge. I spoke with tenants, property owners, and community managers from similar parks and enjoyed the dynamism and diversity. I graduated and now fulfill the role of Community Manager at this same park. It truly feels like pioneering, guided by my own thesis. My goal: to make this park as successful as Chiswick Park in London!

Home away from home

With the increasing acceptance of working from home, the pool of company culture has become thinner in many cases. Is that a problem? Yes. Can anything be done about it? Yes.

Corporate values

Finding and retaining talent is becoming an increasingly greater challenge. Research shows that new generations increasingly value activities, corporate values, and culture. You can already sense the pinch point when we increasingly work outside the office. After all, all these things are organized in or around the office. Once the company logo is only found on the payslip, you've missed the mark.

Multi tenant temptation

Bringing a community to life within a corporate environment is one thing, but achieving it in a multi-tenant real estate environment is quite another. Users simply have less of a connection to the building where they happen to work than to their employer. Therefore, some adjustments are needed. Budget, shared interests, and values must be identified. Furthermore, the importance of the community must be substantiated and actively encouraged to participate in activities. The result of success is loyal and enthusiastic tenants.

Business park
participation

Without a doubt, the biggest challenge in Community Building is bringing tenants together in a business park. In short: getting tenants from different office buildings to participate in activities. Or: transforming a business park into a campus. The mere question of how to reach the end users can cause sleepless nights. Patience and perseverance are the key ingredients here. We're happy to explain the other ingredients.

The D&B
Culture
Club

How do we achieve this ourselves? Unlike a "clubhouse," which aims to make employees feel at home, the Culture Club was created to take employees out of their home environment and immerse them in the D&B culture. At the end of the day, employees return home with a mindset that aligns with our core values. Lifelong friendships and an ambassadorship are forged here, a value that cannot be measured. That's why we believe in communities.

"Making every day a party at the office. That's my mission in just eight words. It's a lot of fun for me, and for my colleagues too, of course. I have my own budget, and I use it to organize things like paddle tennis and pétanque competitions on our roof terrace. People really come to the office for that. Yes, and for me, of course :)"
